I'll never forget this spot. On the way to Cougar Hot Spring near Eugene Oregon the model and I came across an entire hillside of tree stumps that all looked like they were about to let gravity take them and fall away into the man made reservoir below us.
It was a rather surreal scene and a big part of me wanted to pull the camera back and get the multitude of tree stumps into the frame. Unfortunately I just couldn't figure out a way to do it that didn't lose the model in the process so I gave up and decided to isolate the scene down to one. I still like the results and the slight awkward nature of the pose, falling backward as if fighting the wayward motion of a once mighty tree trying to dive into the water below.
